An increasing sense of urgency about issues like climate change has upped the pressure on foundations and endowments to take a stand in their investment portfolios.

For some, divestment, for example from fossil fuels, is the right choice.  But is divestment the only viable approach to addressing the environmental and social impact of the companies in your investment portfolio? What if you’re not ready or able to divest? What’s the range of options available to apply pressure with companies who negatively impact (directly and indirectly) social issues your foundation cares about?

Please join us for a discussion of strategies foundations successfully employ to address a host of social and environmental issues with connections to the companies they hold in their investment portfolios.

Explore:
  • Why and how foundations have taken a stand with companies – either through active ownership and corporate engagement, divestment, or both.
  • How your foundation can decide what’s right for its circumstances and mission – active ownership and corporate engagement, divestment, or some of each
  • Ways your foundation can immediately take action.
