Build Skills & Knowledge

Each year Philanthropy New York offers more than 200 programs and events designed to support the professional development of staff at a range of grantmaking organizations, engage members in discussions about topics key to effective philanthropy, foster an exchange of useful information and nurture the growth of a vibrant learning community.

Our programs:

  • focus on funding areas and topics of interest for our sector;
  • build institutional skills and knowledge, and a deeper understanding of philanthropy, for our members;
  • expose them to new trends, initiatives and collaboratives; and
  • provide them with peer-to-peer networking and learning opportunities.

We continually work to expand the number, complexity and visibility of our programming and go to great lengths to ensure our offerings both serve and represent the broad range of philanthropic organizations and viewpoints within our community.

In addition to taking part in our programs, we encourage members to help us build a learning community for our sector. Learn how you can get involved.

See What you need to know before you go for info about fees, registration procedures, cancellation policies and directions to our offices.

You can search our online library of materials from experts and colleagues across the sector. Missed a program? Our resource bank also includes handouts, presentations and recorded webinars. Looking for sample job descriptions or salary benchmarking information? We compile a range of resources that support effective operations.

PNY also conducts research for members about other funders and offers members free access to the Family Philanthropy Online Knowledge Center.
