New York State’s new Paid Family Leave legislation is one of the strongest and most comprehensive policies in the nation. Paid Family Leave will provide working New Yorkers with job-protected, paid leave, to: bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition, or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service. This law goes into effect on January 1, 2018, and it defines family in broad terms.

Legislative changes can be complicated, so join FAN to learn more about both the legal and the practical aspects of properly implementing New York State Paid Family Leave, to ensure that the philanthropic community is ready for the transition. The first half of the program will be facilitated by Labor and Employment attorney, Daniel F. Murphy Jr., of Putney Twombly, Hall & Hirson LLP. In the second half of the program we will discuss the results of the survey distributed by PNY’s Foundation Administrators Network (FAN), in collaboration with CBIZ, Employment Services Organization. Patrick Lynch, Senior Account Manager at CBIZ will highlight survey outcomes and implementation trends for the sector, providing a benchmark for your own implementation practices.
