*This program is hosted by our partner, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR), who has extended an invitation to PNY members.*

Last year, GCIR piloted network huddles as a new type of a space for local funders—program officers, managers, and directors—to engage in shared learning, exchange information, and stay up to date as the policy landscape rapidly shifted. Our most recent call took place on December 16th, when we focused on lessons learned from local funders in Chicago, Portland, Los Angeles, and D.C. in their response to increased immigration enforcement.

Since then, we have seen the terror inflicted on communities in Minneapolis, and the beginning of a larger outcry: authoritarianism isn’t just coming for immigrants, it’s coming for anyone who is seen as a threat.

We hope these network huddles serve as a space for pro-immigrant funder organizers to learn from each other about what others are doing to respond to these rising threats.

This year, our calls will take place with more frequency and with the same goal: to continue to carve out space for funder information exchange, troubleshooting, and coordination.

These huddles are designed as a space for honest conversations–a community of practice where members and non-members alike can co-strategize as events continue to shift around us. If you’re interested in joining the listserv for these calls, please email our team.

On that note, our first network huddle in 2026 will take place on Wednesday, February 25th at 10:00am PT/1:00pm ET. We’ll be uplifting local funders at the forefront of current events, including Minneapolis and Maine. We hope you can join us.
