PNY Welcomes Nominations to Its Board

Dear Members:

At Philanthropy New York’s Annual Meeting each spring, the membership votes on the election of new board members. That vote is the end of a process that actually starts now – when we seek nominations for candidates to serve on our Board of Directors who will help Philanthropy New York move its goals forward and strengthen the organization. You have a wide network of colleagues and thus might have a great candidate to nominate for the Board. For some insight into serving on Philanthropy New York’s board from a former Board Chair, check out this insights piece by Phil Li, PNY Board Chair from 2015-2017.
The Governance and Nominating Committee is dedicated to building PNY’s Board with exceptional leaders from diverse backgrounds. In the spring of 2018, we will have four seats to fill.

We seek candidates who at a minimum:

  • Hold a senior leadership position with institutional decision-making authority at a Philanthropy New York member organization
  • Have a strong commitment to Philanthropy New York’s mission of promoting and supporting effective philanthropy
  • Can attend the Annual Meeting, four board meetings per year and serve on a Board committee

This year we are also prioritizing candidates with a legal or financial background. If you have any questions about board service with Philanthropy New York, please contact Board Chair Mike Pratt (mpratt@scherman.org) or either of us. Please use this form to submit your nominees to Leah Gervais no later than January 5, 2018.

Best regards,
Kyung Yoon and Pam Foster, Co-chairs
Governance and Nominating Committee
