Join us for the third webinar, of a four-part series, that will explore the Campaign for Grade Level Reading Initiative and its core community solution areas. The third webinar will cover: 
 
Community Solution Area: Summer Learning
 
Too many children lose ground over the summer months, returning to school in the fall further behind than when they left in June. Children in low-income families lack access to enriching summer learning experiences, have few if any books in the home and face increased food insecurity without school meals.
 
Participate in an interactive conversation about what the science says about summer learning loss and ways to solve this problem. Find out how funders in the New York State GLR Network are working with partners in their local communities to improve student outcomes on summer learning. Learn more about the most promising and proven practices, programs and policies that expand access to books and integrate literacy skills development over the summer months. The session will include innovative approaches and models of how to deliver and integrate both summer learning opportunities and summer meals.
