Leon Levy Foundation Names Robert F. Goldrich President

 

The Leon Levy Foundation today named Robert F. Goldrich, former senior policy advisor in the Bloomberg Administration as its president and chief financial officer. Mr. Goldrich succeeds the Foundation’s first president, John Bernstein, who became chief operating officer of the Ford Foundation and has joined the Leon Levy Foundation board.

 

Mr. Goldrich brings three decades of experience in finance and economic development, in both the private and public sectors. He served six years in the Bloomberg Administration as senior policy advisor in the Office of Deputy mayor Robert K. Steel. He led the Mayor’s Office on economic development in the borough of Queens, including commercial, retail and residential housing development projects and area re-zonings. Prior to joining the Bloomberg administration, Mr. Goldrich was an executive in international equities with Morgan Stanley & Co. and Credit Suisse.

Mr. Goldrich said, “This is an exciting challenge for me to lead a Foundation that has contributed so consistently and creatively to improving many diverse areas of New York life – from preserving and enhancing parks and gardens to furthering brain research and scientific discovery to seeking a greater understanding of the ancient world.”

 

Robert F. Goldrich received his BA degree in history in 1984 from Northwestern University and his MS in real estate development in 2007 from Columbia University.

 

He served as a principal in international equity sales-trading at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York and Hong Kong from 1985-1998. From 1998-2006, he served as managing director of institutional equities at Credit Suisse in New York, during which time he headed  the international sales-trading and international equity sales in the Americas, as well as co-managing the equity middle markets business.
