Please join the New York Environmental Funders Network for a Fireside Chat with our network co-chair Valerie Boucard and Lauren Ressler of the Climate Justice Alliance about innovative frontline-led climate solutions ripe for investment and the false solutions that hinder our ability to make a just transition real on the ground. As always, we will discuss issues from an equity perspective.
What will you learn?
- Learn more about frontline-led climate solutions, where resources are needed and their potential impact.
- Lift up some of the false solutions to rapid decarbonization with the potential to increase harm in already overburdened communities.
- Center racial equity in our collective quest for climate and environmental solution with the following questions:
- How do we think critically about advancing climate solutions, while also protecting and building power for communities?
- What is the potential impact of innovation without guardrails (particularly on communities of color)?
- Who is excluded or suffers the unintended costs of technological innovations? Who benefits?
- What and how do we learn from New York and other places that prioritize equity in their environmental regulations and decarbonization goals?
