Philanthropy New York Welcomes Nafeeza Alie as Director of Finance and Administration
Philanthropy New York is excited to welcome Nafeeza Alie as our new Director of Finance and Administration as of April 18!
In this role at PNY, Nafeeza will steer PNY’s operational finances, fiscal sponsorship programs, and Fund for 2025. Nafeeza brings over 20 years of experience in the field of finance and accounting, over a decade in the philanthropic sector, and deep expertise in accounting, finance, human resources, and operations. She will also work closely with our audit and finance committees to ensure the budget is managed responsibly and aligned with our values.
Nafeeza Alie joins Philanthropy New York after nearly eleven years as the accountant and assistant treasurer on the board of trustees at the Ralph E. Ogden Foundation. As the foundation’s first finance and operations employee, she established and organized all the financials, grant records, human resources, investment portfolio, and technology to further the foundation’s vision, mission, and values. In addition, Nafeeza also worked closely with the Board to manage each Trustee’s Discretionary Grant Funds throughout the year.
Prior to working with the foundation, Nafeeza held various roles in finance and operations supporting organizations to effectively align their day-to-day activities with their mission. Nafeeza is also a business partner in a real estate investment company and has experience managing multiple projects for property rehabilitation, purchasing, sales, as well as property management.
Nafeeza is very passionate about philanthropy and has dedicated her time to many local non-profit organizations including the Hudson Valley Food Pantry, Safe Harbors, Girls on the Run, Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, and Hudson Valley Community Services. For several years Nafeeza served as the PTA President of Horizons-on-the-Hudson in the City of Newburgh. During her tenure, she was able to increase access to the arts in underserved communities and schools by supporting an initiative between the Storm King Art Center and Horizons-on-the Hudson.
In her personal time, Nafeeza enjoys cooking different cuisines, being outdoors, and continuously developing herself through learning. Nafeeza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from SUNY New Paltz and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lehman College. She resides in the Hudson Valley with her family.
