The Long Island Community Foundation proudly announces the appointment of Gregory P. Demetriou, CEO of the Lorraine Gregory Corp., to its Board of Advisors.
Demetriou, a former NYPD detective and 1981 Medal of Honor recipient, formed the Lorraine Gregory Corporation and purchased Bi-County Mailing, a small mailing company in Bethpage, N.Y. in 1992. In addition, under Demetriou’s leadership, Lorraine Gregory Corp. has acquired a printing company and envelope provider, established an online envelope store, created a promotional items department and transformed the structure of the company to a comprehensive marketing communications provider as the Lorraine Gregory Communications Group.
In 2012, Demetriou participated in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses educational and business development program, and in 2013 he was named one of Long Island’s Outstanding CEOs by Long Island Business News.
Demetriou serves on the Board of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals Long Island Chapter (AFPLI), which honored him as the 2008 Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer of the Year.
