We are sad to announce that longtime Philanthropy New York employees Nur Ibrahim and Katy Toolin are departing our staff. Nur, who has served as Executive Coordinator since 2010, will be attending Duke University Law School this fall, and Katy, who has been PNY’s Chief Financial Officer since 2008, has accepted the position of Director of Finance and Administration at Unbound Philanthropy. We wish Nur and Katy the best in their new endeavors and thank them for their service to Philanthropy New York!
We also welcome Nicholas Collins to the PNY staff as our new Executive Coordinator. Originally from the United Kingdom, Nick relocated to New York in 2004. His professional experience has focused primarily on training, facilitation and development with the International Movement ATD Fourth World, an anti-poverty organization that engages with individuals and institutions to find solutions to eradicate extreme poverty.
Following assignments in Paris and Brussels, Nick’s work in New York has involved designing and overseeing educational programs in low-income communities. He has also facilitated high-level meetings at the United Nations with UN staff, members of the NGO community and families experiencing extreme poverty. Nick is also a member of the Board of the Greene Hill Food Co-op and President of the Board for its current term. Nick holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts as well as a B.A. in Human Resources Management from Baruch College.
