Four Philanthropy Leaders Join Forum's Board of Directors

Four philanthropy leaders from across the country have joined the Board of Directors of United Philanthropy Forum, formerly the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, the largest network serving philanthropy in America. The new Directors were elected by the Forum’s membership at its 2017 Annual Meeting on July 18, 2017, in San Francisco.

Elected to the Forum’s Board of Directors for a first three-year term are Amanda Andere, CEO, Funders Together to End Homelessness; Leslie Boissiere, Vice President, External Affairs, Annie E. Casey Foundation; Andreason Brown, Chief Operating Officer, Forefront; and Tamir Novotny, Executive Director, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy.

“We’re pleased to welcome these four impressive philanthropy leaders to the Forum’s Board of Directors,” said David Biemesderfer, President and CEO of United Philanthropy Forum. “The Forum is creating a new kind of philanthropic network to lead change and increase impact in philanthropy. We welcome the new perspectives and vibrant leadership that our new Directors will bring to guide us down an exciting new path for our organization and our field.”

Also at the Annual Meeting, the Forum’s membership elected one Director to a second three-year term on the Board: Claudia Herrold, Senior Vice President, Communications & Public Policy, Philanthropy Ohio.

Continuing to serve on the Forum’s Board of Directors are Susan Taylor Batten, President & CEO, ABFE; Ronna Brown, President, Philanthropy New York; Paul D. Daugherty, President & CEO, Philanthropy West Virginia; Nick Deychakiwsky, Program Officer, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation; Karen Freeman, Vice President, Operations and Government Relations, Southern California Grantmakers; Joanne Kelley, Executive Director, Colorado Association of Funders; Ellen LaPointe, President & CEO, Northern California Grantmakers; Janine Lee, President & CEO, Southeastern Council of Foundations; Marissa Manlove, President & CEO, Indiana Philanthropy Alliance; Daranee Petsod, President, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees; and Jeff Poulos, President & CEO, Associated Grant Makers.

In addition, the Forum’s Board of Directors has elected new Board Officers for 2017-2018: Chair: Jeff Poulos, Associated Grant Makers; Vice Chair: Ronna Brown, Philanthropy New York; Secretary: Janine Lee, Southeastern Council of Foundations; Treasurer: Karen Freeman, Southern California Grantmakers; and President: David Biemesderfer, United Philanthropy Forum.
