New York Life has announced that Heather Nesle has joined the company as President of the New York Life Foundation. Nesle also has been elected a vice president of New York Life. She reports to Frank M. Boccio, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
Ms. Nesle is responsible for managing the company’s philanthropic and volunteer activities. The New York Life Foundation, nationally known for its charitable giving, and Corporate Responsibility, the unit active in focusing employee volunteer activities, both report directly to her. The New York Life Foundation has provided more than $168 million in charitable contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations since its founding in 1979.
She replaces Christine M. Park, who has retired from the position.
Mr. Boccio said, “Chris Park has had a remarkable impact on the company, launching the Foundation’s focus in support of childhood bereavement issues and expanding the national discussion on the issue. We wish her well in her retirement. We are pleased to have Heather Nesle head the New York Life Foundation, where her considerable philanthropy and corporate affairs experience and commitment to the philanthropy field will help her lead the strong team we have in place in corporate responsibility.”
Nesle most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Sustainability at HSBC Bank USA. Prior to that, she served in various roles at Fannie Mae, most recently as Senior Capital Markets Manager, as well as Senior Communications Manager, and Information Architect. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Western New York Public Broadcasting Association and is a member of Philanthropy New York's Leadership Forum and Membership Committee. She was named a 2009 “New Yorker Who Cares” by New York Cares.
Ms. Nesle earned a Master of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Human Services from George Washington University.
