The Educational Foundation of America (EFA) is thrilled to welcome Christy Loper as a new Program Officer. Loper will support the Foundation's environmental grantmaking. She comes to EFA with over twelve years of experience in the environmental sector.
Prior to joining EFA, Loper served as the Micronesia Program Director for the international nonprofit Rare, living on the island of Palau and working with local organizations in the Pacific Islands to build resilience to climate change. Before her tenure with Rare, she worked for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in a number of capacities, including on their Coral Reef Conservation Program.
Loper holds an M.A. in Marine Policy, and a Ph.D. from the University of Delaware College of Marine Studies.
