William T. Grant Foundation Welcomes New Program Officer, Anupreet Sidhu, Ph. D

The William T. Grant Foundation is delighted to announce that Anupreet Sidhu, Ph.D, has joined the Foundation as a program officer, overseeing the Foundation’s grantmaking on the use of research evidence. In her role, Dr. Sidhu will be a key member of the Foundation’s senior program team, which sets our research agenda and annual priorities. She will also direct the Foundation’s portfolio of studies to improve the use of research evidence in ways that benefit youth. In addition, Dr. Sidhu will review letters of inquiry and full proposals for research grants, enhance the Foundation’s existing research initiatives, and represent the Foundation with applicants and grantees. She will also work with other funders to grow the field of study on the use of research evidence, including contributing to the planning for the second global meeting of the Transforming Evidence Network.

Dr. Sidhu is a socio-behavioral scientist with an interest in using research evidence to influence policy and regulatory practices. She recently completed her postdoctoral studies at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she pursued research at the intersection of regulatory science, health communication, and program evaluation. She has received funding from the Food & Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, and has published in a range of peer-reviewed journals, including BMC Public Health, Addictive Behaviors, Tobacco Regulatory Science, and Pedagogy in Health Promotion.

Dr. Sidhu is a socio-behavioral scientist with an interest in using research evidence to influence policy and regulatory practices.

“Dr. Sidhu’s experience studying ways to encourage regulatory bodies to use research to shift marketing practices and behavioral change to discourage smoking is well aligned with the Foundation’s focus on improving the use of research evidence,” said Kim DuMont, the Foundation’s Senior Vice President of Program. “Anupreet’s background in public health will also expand our skills, theory, and network of scholars. We are excited to welcome her to the Foundation.”
