Sophia P. Stewart is the new Department Coordinator in the Office of Communications at the Ford Foundation. Before joining the foundation, Stewart was the Office Coordinator at The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York (NGO/CSW/NY). There, she worked as a liaison between domestic and international NGOs and the organization UN Women to help bridge informational gaps by coordinating events educating NGOs on how to effectively communicate with the United Nations. Prior to NGO/CSW/NY, Stewart spent the last six years working in the private sector as a Manager in Office Administration.
Stewart holds a M.S. in Nonprofit Management Specializing in International Organizational Development and Strategic Planning from the New School for Public Engagement, Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, concentrating in Emergency Disaster Management, from Stony Brook University.
