The Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Sister Paulette LoMonaco as a member of the Board of Directors. Over the past 32 years, LoMonaco, Executive Director of Good Shepherd Services, has made an impact on the lives of countless vulnerable New York City children and youth and on the child welfare, education and family support systems.
Winner of the inaugural 2007 New York Times Nonprofit Excellence Award for overall management excellence, Good Shepherd has played a leadership role in the development of groundbreaking models of service for disconnected youth. Under LoMonaco's guidance, Good Shepherd has evolved from a small provider of out-of-home care to one of New York City's largest, most respected multi-service agencies.
LoMonaco is a respected leader at the city and state levels, known for her intelligence, integrity, unwavering commitment to vulnerable youth and passionate advocacy for those in need. She is widely recognized as the "go-to" person on youth-related issues — an honest broker, reasonable partner and always accessible expert.
A founding member of the Neighborhood Family Services Coalition, LoMonaco serves on numerous boards and government advisory boards. She is also a recipient of the Robin Hood Hero's Award as well as a Lewis Hine Award. She serves on the ACS Commissioner's Advisory Board, as well as the boards and executive committees of the Human Services Council and Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies.
