Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Names Amy F. Dinofrio as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Princeton, N.J.—The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced today that Amy F. Dinofrio has been named vice president and chief human resources officer. In this role, Dinofrio will be a key member of RWJF’s leadership team, responsible for developing and executing a progressive talent strategy in alignment with the vision, values, and Guiding Principles of the Foundation, and in support of its overall strategic direction. She will join the Foundation on May 2, 2022.

RWJF is the nation’s largest philanthropy dedicated solely to health, working alongside others to build a Culture of Health that provides everyone a fair and just opportunity for health and well-being.

Dinofrio comes to RWJF with more than a decade of executive-level human resources and talent management experience. In her most recent role as the chief people & culture officer at United Way Worldwide, she strengthened the organization’s talent to help drive the mission, began rebuilding the culture to foster a stronger team and organization, and developed and led an organizational salary and equity study to identify inequities and rebuild salary ranges and job levels. Previously, as the vice president of people strategies at United Way Worldwide, Dinofrio rebuilt the People & Talent department to better serve the organization internally and externally. She also developed and implemented new onboarding programming and a parental leave policy, prioritized employee engagement and organizational development, and built a staff council to advocate for staff with organizational leadership on large initiatives. As the director of talent capacity at United Way Worldwide, she built a talent management strategy to support the United Way network, putting people at the center.

As vice president of human resources at Pikes Peak United Way, Dinofrio oversaw the Human Resources Department and the implementation of federal and state labor laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), compensation and payout requirements, pension plans, taxes, and any other laws regarding employees and rebuilt the employee handbook and human resources strategy.

Dinofrio received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor of arts from King’s College. She also has her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HRCI, the premier credentialing and learning organization for the human resources profession, as well as her Senior Certified Professional (SCP) and California Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR-CA) certifications from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the foremost expert, convener, and thought leader on issues impacting today’s evolving workplaces.

“We are excited to welcome Amy Dinofrio aboard,” said RWJF Chief Operating Officer Melvin Galloway. “Amy’s significant experience and strategic focus on putting an organization’s most important asset, its people, first will be of great service as we move toward a more equitable Foundation and organizational culture. Throughout her career Amy has demonstrated a commitment to the values we embrace as we work to build a Culture of Health with equity at its core. I look forward to working together, and am eager to learn from her."
