Rahsaan Harris Named President and CEO of Emma L. Bowen Foundation
The Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media announced the appointment of Dr. Rahsaan Harris as President and CEO effective January 5, 2015. Following the retirement of long-time Foundation veteran Phylis Eagle-Oldson, Dr. Harris will lead Emma Bowen into its 26th year with more than 15 years working in philanthropy and nonprofits.
Dr. Harris joins Emma Bowen from his role as executive director of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP), a national network of foundation professionals and social entrepreneurs designed to develop emerging leaders committed to building a just, equitable and sustainable society. As President and CEO of the Emma Bowen Foundation, Dr. Harris will continue to further the Foundation’s mission of preparing minority youth for careers in the media industry. Maintaining relationships with a wide variety of philanthropic organizations to help fund Emma Bowen’s programs, Dr. Harris will bring his wideranging expertise to the Foundation in an effort to elevate and expand the Emma Bowen Internship Program, last year rated among the “Best Overall Internship Programs” by Vault.
