Philanthropy New York Welcomes New Vice President of Policy & Collaboration, Rico Blancaflor
Philanthropy New York is delighted to announce our new Vice President of Policy & Collaboration, Rico Blancaflor. Rico comes to us after 20 years of experience with the Posse Foundation. At Posse, he was responsible for codifying and replicating the Posse program nationally, establishing the organization’s for-profit DEI consulting practice, and creating the organization’s successful national retreats which bring together hundreds of students and college administrators to explore pressing national issues. He brings to PNY a deep knowledge of racial equity work, a set of outstanding facilitation skills, and a keen understanding of policy issues that affect first generation low-income college students, including financial stability, education policy and immigration. A talented artist, Rico is a multimedia designer who was responsible for many of Posse’s brand elements, the creation of the organization’s website and production of over 50 videos. He is also a documentary filmmaker exploring the diaspora, power and identity for immigrant communities in the United States.
Rico’s experience will be invaluable in helping us to further refine and enhance our Public Policy Fellowship, build new opportunities for our members to experience our Policy work, and ensure that our issue-based collaboration and convening – two of the critical values of membership that consistently appear in member feedback – exceed our members’ expectations. We are excited to have him join our team and encourage you to reach out to Rico to welcome him.
