Mandy Van Deven Joins the Nathan Cummings Foundation as Director of Communications
Following an extensive national search, the Nathan Cummings Foundation (NCF) announced today that Mandy Van Deven will join the Foundation as its Director of Communications on October 1, 2019. In this role, Mandy will be a key member of the programmatic team supporting the Foundation and the work of NCF grantee partners and Fellows to advance innovative and visionary solutions to the two most challenging problems of our time – the climate crisis and growing inequality.
Mandy brings 20 years of experience in strategy development, program management, global grantmaking, and communications within the nonprofit, journalism, and philanthropic sectors. Prior to joining NCF, she was the Communications Officer at Foundation for a Just Society, where she pioneered the thoughtful integration of strategic communications across grantmaking, capacity building, and philanthropic advocacy. Mandy has served in leadership roles within several funder affinity groups, including the Human Rights Funders Network and Philanthropy Advancing Women’s Human Rights, that strive to create more diverse ecosystems for movement building.
