Mamadou-Abou Sarr Elected as New Board Member of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts

October 8, 2021 ­–The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts is pleased to announce the election of Mamadou-Abou Sarr as a new member of its board. Sarr is the founder and President of V-Square Quantitative Management, a global asset management firm headquartered in Chicago, and a leader in the field of sustainable investing and financial innovation.
 
Mamadou’s expertise as an international financier and his commitment to the visual arts will be a great addition to the foundation’s leadership,” says Joel WachsPresident of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, “His informed perspective on the important role that artists and art play in cultural discourses strongly aligns with the Foundation’s artist-centered values and its support of the organizations and institutions that amplify artists’ voices.”
 
Mamadou is actively involved in a number of philanthropic and civic activities around the world. He is on the Board of Trustees at the Art Institute of Chicago and a member of the Museum Council at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. He is also a French Foreign Trade Advisor, appointed by decree of the Prime Minister of France. 
 
In addition to various philanthropic endeavors, Mamadou and his wife Catherine, established The SARR Collection; a collection with a large focus on contemporary photography that also includes painting and sculpture by established and emerging artists. The collection illustrates the Sarrs’ belief in supporting and empowering artists in the early stages of their practices. The collection also gives an annual award to three students from Les Beaux-Arts Paris in recognition for excellence in a body of artistic work.
