Long Island Community Foundation Names New Board Members

The Long Island Community Foundation recently named three new board members. “We are thrilled to welcome these three talented and iconic community leaders to our Board,” said David M. Okorn, LICF’s executive director. “We are looking forward to the invaluable experience each member will bring to help LICF fulfill its commitment to Long Island.”

Nancy Engelhardt is a social entrepreneur and founder of Leaders In Action. As the former Executive Director of Leadership Huntington and founding Director of The Energeia Partnership, Nancy helps bring together, influential leaders in the region, providing them with the information and networks necessary to become change agents. Under Nancy’s leadership, The Energeia Partnership educated over 400 leaders who are serving on over 250 boards and commissions across Long Island. Nancy is a passionate trustee of Long Island and a catalyst for achieving results through collaboration and leadership development.

John T. DeCelle is president and CEO of Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union, a $400 million credit union located on Long Island. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with half in senior management roles,
including most recently as Chief Marketing and Commercial Banking Officer at SEFCU, a $3 billion credit union headquartered in Albany, NY. He has led various areas throughout his career including business development, marketing, call center management, sales and service delivery, electronic delivery, commercial banking, and community support. In June 2016, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo appointed John to the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council.

James E. Meyer, principal of Greco Planning Group has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry. Most of his expertise is in the marketing and relationship building arena. Jim is also looked to as a leader in the
not-for-profit sector because of both his general skills dealing with non-profits and fundraising and his specific area of knowledge, Planned Giving. Jim is the President of the Long Island Affiliate of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning,
The Charitable Estate Planning Council of Long Island (CEPC, LI). Jim is a regularly requested speaker of the CEPC, LI, the AFP, LI and the FPA, LI and presents many continuing education programs for Certified Public Accountants, Enrolled Agents,
Insurance Agents and Certified Financial Planners. Jim also does numerous presentations on Planned Giving to the Boards and/or financial committees of the charities and universities of Long Island as well as national meetings of 501(c)3 organizations.
