Laurie M. Tisch Elected Co-Chair of Whitney Museum Board of Trustees

The Whitney Museum’s board of trustees has elected Laurie M. Tisch and Neil G. Bluhm as co-chairs and Richard M. DeMartini as president. All three will begin their new positions this week on July 1. Tisch and Bluhm will succeed Brooke Garber Neidich and Robert J. Hurst, and former board president DeMartini will succeed Bluhm.

Tisch was elected to the Whitney’s board in 1996, and currently serves as president of the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, a New York City-based arts nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to education, art, economic development, and healthy food. In recognition of her advocacy for arts education, the new Whitney’s first facility for education was named the Laurie M. Tisch Education Center.
