The Leon Levy Foundation has appointed Justine Koch as its new Controller. In this position, Koch works closely with the President/CFO to monitor and perform the due diligence for the foundation’s investment portfolio. She is also responsible for overseeing all financial activities, fully managing the foundation’s audit, income and expenses, budgets and analysis while making recommendations regarding investment and finance-related decisions.
Prior to joining the Leon Levy Foundation, Koch worked as the first Assistant Controller at the Surdna Foundation, where she played a key financial role in an $830-million-dollar endowment. Before joining Surdna, Koch worked as the only accountant to the Treasurer at the Altman Foundation. She earned her B.B.A. from Pace University and serves on the audit committee of the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and
