The Long Island Community Foundation has announced the recent appointment of Ira R. Halperin to Vice Chair of its Board of Advisors. Halperin is a Partner at the law firm of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP.
“Ira brings immeasurable commitment and vision to his work with LICF,” noted David M. Okorn, the foundation’s Executive Director. “As a business leader, CPA, and lawyer, having him serve as our Vice Chair will propel our organization forward and help us effectively address the ever-changing needs of Long Island.”

Halperin heads the Corporate Law Group with extensive experience representing public and private companies engaged in complex mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, corporate financings, venture capital investments, restructurings, and other commercial transactions. Before joining Meltzer Lippe, Halperin was Counsel in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. He is a CPA and served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of several New York and Long Island companies.
Halperin serves as General Counsel to and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Software & Technology Network (LISTnet), and is also on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accounts (IMA) - Long Island Chapter, a founding Trustee in the CEO Trust, a member of the Association for Corporate Growth New York and a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. Halperin has regularly been named by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island's top lawyers in its "Who's Who in Law" and "Who's Who in Corporate Law."
