The Forum Welcomes Jay Hutchins as Associate Director of Policy and Communications

The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers is pleased to welcome Jay Hutchins to the Forum team as our Associate Director of Policy & Communications. In this new position, Jay will be responsible for ensuring that the Forum works as effectively as possible to advance the work of the group's members to engage in government relations and public policy work at the state and national level, and to use communications as effectively as possible to advance the Forum’s mission and vision.   

Jay brings extensive experience in public policy and government relations in both state and federal government and the nonprofit sector. His most recent positions include serving as Legislative Director for Maryland State & D.C. AFL-CIO and as Senior Advisor and Director of Government Affairs for the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, where he worked for seven years. Jay also served as Vice President, Policy Development & Government Relations for the Greater Baltimore Committee, as Federal Affairs Manager for Goodwill Industries International in Rockville, MD, and was a Clinton Administration appointee in the Office of Congressional Relations for the United States Peace Corps. Jay got his start as a Legislative Assistant on the Hill and was a candidate for the Maryland General Assembly in 2010. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Baltimore City Community College.   

Jay received a B.A. in Political Science and Public Administration from Winston-Salem State University and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law.
