Farhad Asghar Joins Carnegie Corporation of New York as Program Officer for Pathways to Postsecondary Success

Carnegie Corporation of New York is pleased to announce that Farhad Asghar will join Carnegie Corporation of New York on December 17, 2018 as Program Officer, Pathways to Postsecondary Success, overseeing part of our education portfolio. Farhad’s work experience includes managing direct service programs, strategic partnerships, and fundraising initiatives in institutions of higher education, large non-profits, and community-based organizations.

Farhad most recently served as the Executive Director of Community Partnerships for The College Board's Access to Opportunity program.  Prior to that he was the Associate Vice President for Development and External Relations, and Associate Dean at Bank Street College of Education.  Farhad also served as the Director of Liberty LEADS, a highly successful college access program, and prior to working for Bank Street College, he taught in a Brooklyn public high school and was a staff member at a Queens based after-school organization.

Farhad holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Secondary Education from CUNY’s Brooklyn College and a Masters in Public Administration from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. He serves on the board of Areté Education, an organization which provides students in the South Bronx comprehensive academic, social, and emotional support.
