Deborah A. Phillips, Ph.D. Resigns as President of Foundation for Child Development

Deborah Phillips The Board of the Foundation for Child Development (FCD) announced that Deborah A. Phillips, Ph.D., has resigned as President of the Foundation. Dr. Phillips will be returning to her faculty position at Georgetown University.

"In partnership with the Board, Deborah has guided FCD through a rigorous year-long strategic planning process that has positioned the Foundation to continue its role as a leader in the PreK-3rd arena and to extend this work in exciting new early learning directions," said Ruth Ann Burns, Chair of the FCD Board. "On behalf of the Board and Staff of the Foundation, I wish to thank Deborah for her energy and hard work on FCD’s strategic planning process this past year, and wish her much success as she returns to academia and her own research agenda."

Chief Operating Officer Jessica Chao will serve as Interim CEO of the Foundation as the Board plans FCD's search for a new president.
