Chris Ransom Joins Arcus’ Great Apes and Gibbons Program as Program Officer

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. (March 8, 2019) – The Arcus Foundation, a global foundation promoting respect for diversity among peoples and in nature, announced today the appointment of Chris Ransom as Program Officer for Arcus’ Great Apes and Gibbons Program.

Prior to Arcus, Ransom spent 12 years at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) where he led their conservation programs in Africa and the Middle East. Prior to his work with ZSL, Ransom spent several years working both on field projects and primate sanctuaries in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Indonesia, and in Thailand, where his work focused on the welfare of gibbons. 

Ransom earned a Bachelor’s Degree (with joint honors) in Biology and Geography from Bristol University and a Master’s Degree in Conservation Biology (with distinction) from the University of Kent’s Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology...
