Capital One Foundation Sees Departure at the Top, Appoints New President

The Capital One Foundation has undergone a change in leadership, with former long-serving President Carolyn Berkowitz stepping down to pursue other opportunities.

Berkowitz, who had served as the head of the foundation since 2007, stepped down in late April. Catherine Foca, the vice president for programs and operations for seven years, was named president.

Berkowitz will remain with Capital One as an adviser until October 2016.

Berkowitz joined McLean-based Capital One in 2005 as vice president of community affairs, overseeing Capital One’s U.S. grant funding, volunteerism and community relations. In 2007, she was also named president of the then newly formed Capital One Foundation...
