Arabella Advisors Hires Managing Director of Advocacy, Scott Nielsen

 

Arabella Advisors announced that Scott Nielsen, who brings years of experience helping foundations develop and evaluate advocacy initiatives, has joined the firm as managing director of advocacy.

 

In addition to having worked as a program officer at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and run his own advocacy consulting firm, Scott has written widely about philanthropy. In his first Arabella blog post, Scott explains “Why Strategic Philanthropy (Almost) Always Involves Advocacy.” 

 

Going forward, Scott will lead Arabella’s team in partnering with institutional, family, and individual funders to make smart and innovative investments in advocacy that both seize time-bound opportunities and lay the groundwork for long-term, transformational policy change.
