Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Announces New Program Director, Dr. Ernie Glover
(New York, NY) The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation announces that Dr. Ernie Glover will join the organization as Program Director. In his new role at Sloan, Dr. Glover’s primary responsibility will be to develop and oversee new grantmaking programs that advance the Foundation’s mission to support original research in basic science. Dr. Glover is currently a science program officer at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. He will join the Foundation starting in fall of 2019.
The Sloan Foundation makes nearly $50 million in grants each year in fundamental research. Selected through a highly competitive nationwide search, Glover will serve as the architect of new science programs within this overall research portfolio. He will work closely with Foundation staff and with leaders in the scientific community to continue the Foundation’s tradition of support for original, high quality, rigorous research that has the potential to transform our scientific understanding of the world.
