The Foundation adopted an institution-wide Racial Justice Lens in 2014 following a 6-month, 1,000-person boroughwide engagement project that resulted in a new community-led strategy focused on Youth, Neighborhoods, Nonprofits, and Racial Justice.

Since 2006, under Ana Oliveira’s leadership, the grant-making of what is billed as the largest women’s fund in the country increased from $1.7 million to $6 million to help women and girls in poverty across New York City.

New York City’s schools are among the most segregated in the country — an issue that has attracted growing attention and advocacy.

The results, published in the journal "Obesity," provide insight into whether the causes of childhood obesity lie primarily inside or outside of schools.
