Ms. Foundation for Women Founder Gloria Steinem Wraps Up Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Gloria Steinem, writer, lecturer, political activist, and feminist organizer, told students to listen to each other and themselves Wednesday night in Schwab Auditorium.
Steinem spoke as part of the Student Programming Association's Distinguished Speaker Series to a crowd of nearly 600.
Co-founder of Ms. Magazine and New York Magazine, Steinem influenced the feminist movement beginning in the 1960s.
She assisted in the founding of the Women's Action Alliance, the National Women's Political Caucus, the Women's Media Center, Voters for Choice, URGE, the Ms. Foundation for Women, Equality Now, Donor Direct Action and Direct Impact Africa...
