On October 24, Philanthropy New York presented a program led by FSG Managing Director John Kania on Collective Impact, a new approach first featured in the Winter 2011 Issue of the Stanford Social Innovation Review. To utilize a Collective Impact approach: a group of cross-sector actors commit to a common agenda for solving a specific social problem and agree that each be accountable to a single overarching goal.
