**This program is hosted by our partners, United Philanthropy Forum and ABFE, who have extended an invitation to PNY members.**
With the ongoing legal challenge to the Fearless Fund’s grantmaking supporting women entrepreneurs of color, United Philanthropy Forum and ABFE, in close partnership with HIP, AAPIP, NAP, and PNY, are hosting a comprehensive briefing to help Philanthropy Serving Organizations (PSOs) organize sector collaboration aimed at supporting equitable grantmaking practices and broader racial equity and justice work.
In the wake of last year’s Supreme Court decision ending Affirmative Action in higher education, numerous lawsuits have been filed targeting grantmaking and nonprofit programs that aim to advance racial equity, with the Fearless Fund case being a prime example. Many in philanthropy have expressed concern about the potential chilling effect these lawsuits could have on charitable sector work supporting and advocating for vibrant, healthy, and equitable communities.
What will you learn?
- Opportunities for PSOs to collaborate with and mobilize sector leaders in support of strategic legal actions, communications and messaging campaigns, and legislative advocacy work
- Key details about the possible effects this and similar lawsuits could have on sector programs that seek to advance racial equity and justice
- Potential legislative solutions and regulatory avenues to counter these regressive trends and bolster philanthropic and nonprofit racial equity initiatives
Who should attend?
Philanthropy Serving Organizations (PSOs) and their foundation networks (funders) are encouraged to register. What to expect: We look forward to an engaging, insightful, and solutions-oriented briefing and dialogue.
