In collaboration with the North Star Fund, New York Foundation, Scherman Foundation, and the New York Women's Foundation, we are excited to invite you to a funder briefing for The People's Plan NYC (TPP), a gathering to showcase how their work is building power and civic infrastructure to fight for a budget that truly representes the needs of New Yorkers.
Since taking office, Mayor Eric Adams has slashed NYC’s budget several times, gutting essential services while doubling down on austerity. The consequences are clear: families struggle to secure 3K and childcare seats, CUNY students face massive budget gaps that threaten their education, and parks and public spaces continue to suffer from disinvestment. With city elections fast approaching, the stakes couldn’t be higher—New Yorkers deserve leaders and a budget that prioritizes care, not austerity and cuts. The People’s Plan NYC is mobilizing communities to fight back and fight for more, both for a People’s Budget that puts resources where they’re needed most, and for a more democratic and transparent budget process that involves more New Yorkers.
Please join us to learn how TPP is building people power through the people’s budget, and how funders can support building a more compassionate and just New York City through the city budget.
