Tony Macklin, author of the Balancing Purpose, Payout, and Permanence report, will be a panelist on an upcoming Forefront webinar. This conversation will focus on recent calls for foundations to increase the percentage of assets they pay out each year.
Endowed foundations have responded to this call with everything from “stay the course with 5%” to “dive in with 20%” and all points in between. There is a surprisingly wide spectrum of choices endowed foundations have made in balancing permanence, purpose, and payout. In September, NCFP hosted a community conversation discussing this topic.
