PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In July 2010 the Obama Administration's Social Innovation Fund (SIF) awarded a $3.6 million grant to AIDS United to expand its access-to-care initiative (A2C).
This funder-only briefing will explore this monumental new opportunity for the private sector to leverage non-HIV/AIDS Federal resources to ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the U.S. have access to primary medical care and HIV-specific care.
The SIF-AIDS United public-private partnership offers new opportunities for investment among the broader philanthropic sector, as well as the chance to engage in the successful implementation of the "Increasing Access to Care" pillar of National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS).
Join your funder colleagues:
- Learn about the innovative approaches anticipated from the first round of 10 community-based SIF grantees from across the country
- Discover how new collaborations reach beyond HIV/AIDS to improve the total wellness of communities and individuals most impacted by the epidemic.
- Hear from invested grantmakers and partners about the value and goals of this new public-private partnership model; and,
- Brainstorm with your colleagues on philanthropy’s role in addressing the urgent needs around access to care for PLWHA.
