Just over 60 U.S. foundations increased their grantmaking by 25 percent or more in 2016, earning them a place on Funders for LGBTQ Issues’ 2016 honor roll.
Over the last 100 years, The Commonwealth Fund has been committed to improving the health of the American people as well as working on international issues and to improving the care, especially of vulnerable populations.
The grant will fund a five-year initiative called Humanities Unbounded, which will include roughly a dozen two-year visiting faculty fellowships, according to Gennifer Weisenfeld, dean of the humanities at Duke.
Commonwealth Fund, released a state-by-state scorecard on May 3 looking at each state’s ability to deliver medical care to its residents. The study broke down over 40 areas of health care from access, to the value of care Americans were paying for.
