With major changes on the veterans landscape, how can philanthropy stay relevant, targeted and effective? The number of Post 9/11 veterans in civilian life is swelling even as the overall veteran population declines; public agencies that serve veterans are undergoing major changes in their leadership and service delivery; and the military itself is shifting to address new challenges.

Over the last decade, philanthropy has played a critical role in supporting veterans and it will no doubt continue to do so for years to come. To strengthen the essential, donors-only quality of our events, we recently strengthened our qualification standards. Please carefully review our attendance policy to determine if you are qualified to attend. This solicitation-free event is open to those who annually distribute, or intend to distribute in the near future, at least $100,000 in charitable donations. There is no fee to attend.

Qualified Attendees Include:

• Individual philanthropists

• Board and staff of private foundations

• Board and staff of operating foundations

• Board and staff of corporate foundations and corporate giving programs

• Donor advisors who provide verification of their registration on behalf of a qualified donor

Additionally, the CEO, executive director, president, and education program staff from the following organizations can attend:

• Community foundations

• Venture philanthropy partnerships

• Donor advised funds

• Regional associations of grantmakers

The CEO, executive director, president, or education program staff of public charities that make grants in excess of one million dollars annually. Qualified public charities include those that devote more than half of their operating budget to grants for external activities (excluding scholarships.)

Development officers from any qualified organization and/or public charity are ineligible to attend.
