Recent documentary films are conveying incredibly powerful stories and imagery around environmental destruction -- from flaming faucets and endangered species to eviscerated landscapes and communities uniting against polluters. These stories help viewers understand what's at stake far better than most policy debates can, and when used in effective outreach campaigns, they can move the needle on huge environmental issues.
With climate debates at the top of today's headlines, join Media Impact Funders and The 11th Hour Project for a discussion of effective engagement tactics. Meet the outreach teams of two powerful films - Virunga and Gasland - which hone in on how conservationists, activists and governments are fighting damaging incursions by oil companies across two continents.
