International education funders have been working with a wide spectrum of primary and secondary schools, community-based organizations, NGOs and governments to improve access, quality, and relevance of primary and secondary education. We have made great strides over the past several years: the Sustainable Development Goals set bolder targets for improving not only access but also quality of learning, and for not only primary school but also early childhood and secondary education.
Meeting these ambitious goals requires funders to think not only about what grantees can do individually, but also about what they can achieve collectively and how they can build off of knowledge that has already been generated.
