PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This session will share data and insights on the growth and diversity of Latino youth in New York City, a critical topic given that Latinos “make up the largest share of the population under 25.” The Community Service Society will bring findings from the recent report, New York City’s Future Looks Latino, highlighting information on Latino youth ages 16-24, including school enrollment, educational attainment, labor force participation, and income. A panel reflecting a variety of perspectives – grassroots, direct service, and historical – will then lead the discussion on how these insights on the differentiated experiences of various subgroups of youth can inform population-specific giving, targeted program strategies, and evaluation of the effectiveness of education and workforce development policies and programs.
