A Philanthropy New York International Grantmakers Network program.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Key staff for international programs at Philanthropy New York member organizations. The discussion will focus on the operational issues associated with grantmaking internationally.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Philanthropy New York's core role as a convener of grantmakers has led us to create several networks that help grantmakers connect with each other and share best practices. In response to requests from members, we convened a pilot network meeting for international grantmakers earlier this year.  Given the strong interest in meeting again, we invite Philanthropy New York members who fund internationally to join us for the second international grantmakers network meeting on October 14th, from 3:30 – 5pm at Carnegie Corporation.

This network convening is an opportunity for international grantmakers across funding areas to share practical and strategic questions around operational issues.  At this meeting, we will focus the discussion on international grantee applications, financials, and budgets – and the full range of challenges and complexities that are a part of granting internationally.  We encourage attendees to share relevant templates with Kristen Ruff (kruff@philanthropynewyork.org) prior to the meeting so we may compile a resource packet for attendees.

We will also reserve time to discuss other internationally focused programming this group might want to develop for the larger funder community.
