Expanding Perspectives on the Integration of Refugees
Refugee integration is not just about how our communities are inclusive of refugees, but it is also about how refugee leaders and organizations are working at the intersections of gender, race, and age in innovative ways to create a cohesive sense of family and community across the country. Our two prior webinars in the Philanthropy, Refugees, and the Global Humanitarian Crisis series considered the dimensions of the global refugee crisis, how the refugee resettlement process works, systems that support the reception and orientation process for refugee newcomers across the country, and challenges in these systems.
In this latest webinar in the series, held in honor of World Refugee Day, we will expand our perspectives on how refugees integrate and how women and girls have often been marginalized, and learn about efforts to empower them, build refugee leadership in our communities, and create healing spaces. We will also explore how philanthropy has approached grantmaking for refugee communities and strategies for funding at the intersectionality of gender, race, and age.
