Grantmakers for Southern Progress (formerly the Southern Organizing Working Group) has recently released As the South Goes: Philanthropy and Social Justice in the U.S. South. This briefing will focus on research highlights and will offer a chance for dialogue about questions that have long vexed the field.
Explore
- What makes investment in the South so necessary and compelling and sometimes so hard?
- What do we know about ways that language and jargon can inhibit collaborative grantmaking?
- What are the opportunities for partnerships with Southern funders that solve deep inequities, even when we lead with different strategies?
A Philanthropy New York Collaborative Program with the Open Society Foundations in partnership with the Ford Foundation and the Ms. Foundation for Women.
