This session will explore best strategies to cultivate the leadership skills of our middle and high school youth. Join leaders from outstanding NYC organizations which employ youth leadership training as they lead our discussion.

We will start off with an interactive series of presentations from organizations with exemplary programs, which will be followed by table discussions facilitated by youth/staff teams.

Explore:
  • How we can effectively engage and develop young people in such areas as civic engagement and advocacy, education, technology, job skills, and college access and success
  • How young people, especially those from disadvantaged communities, can best learn, demonstrate and teach their peers these skills
  • What funders can learn from model leadership programs, and how they can best support these efforts
