Tow Foundation Gives $25M to Barnard for Tech Center

Through his foundation, the former CEO of Frontier Communications’ predecessor company is donating $25 million to Barnard College, which the Columbia University affiliate will use to build a new teaching center in New York City.

The Tow Foundation, overseen by Leonard Tow and daughter Emily Tow Jackson, is donating the money alongside a $25 million gift from Cheryl Glicker Milstein and Philip Milstein, and $20 million from Diana Vagelos and Roy Vagelos. The money will be used for a new, 128,000-square-foot teaching center which Barnard says will serve as a springboard for it to institute a technology requirement beginning with this fall’s entering class. . .
